Handicrafts have been an indispensable part of Tibetan people’s life since ancient times. There are many types of handicrafts we can talk about. They are Thangka, woodcarving, jewelry, yak bone accessories, Tibetan mask, etc.
What Tibetan people wear on the body and head, hang on the waist as labor tools, home furnishings, house decoration, etc, each piece is closely related to the craft. The foreign people do buy a lot of Tibetan handicrafts for different purposes such as decorating home, gifting, and so on.
Many of the Tibetans are engaged in selling handicrafts, for it is their source of livelihood.
